(1) At the time of marriage or after the marriage, the bridegroom should give to the bride or the groom so much cash in the form of dowry, donation, box, gift, parting gift, etc. It should not be decided in advance and the bridegroom's side should not be scolded for not giving dowry or refuse to marry, or if the marriage has already taken place, the bride should bid farewell and not accompany her, or those who have the custom of bidding farewell only after the bride should bid farewell later and refuse to marry.
(2) Apart from a single piece of jewelery worn on the jiu at the time of marriage, according to their clan tradition, those who willingly give dowry can only give a maximum of ten thousand rupees.
(3) Whoever violates sub-section (1) or (2) shall be liable to a fine of up to ten thousand rupees or to imprisonment for a term of fifteen days or to both, if the defect is not allowed to be collected.
